Bobby Fischer's 21-move brilliancy

Bobby Fischer creates a chess masterpiece in only 21 moves against Robert Eugene Byrne, an International Master, at the 1963/1964 United States Chess Championship, held in New York. At 20 years young, Grandmaster Robert James Fischer was already among the world's very best chess players. In this brilliancy, Fischer demonstrates how to inject multiple imbalances into a highly symmetrical position, how to properly highlight these differences to benefit oneself, and how to accurately assess the true value of the pieces as they rest on the board.

If my voice sounds worn to you in this video, good ear! It's football season, and I tend to be a vocal fan. :) I hope you enjoy this video. *This was the 1st comment to this video, somehow it got lost/unpinned.*

Just wish you would move the game along more instead of saying everything 5 times. I find your videos informative but my patience is in decline.

why the hell does this guy feel the need to explain symmetry to people watching a chess video?

Does the white king move from white squere to black and vise versa, or can it be moved two times to white or black box if on both of you turn you decide to move king? Also soldiers can move two steps ONLY when opening move is made, not after first button is moved. .. or if you want to move horse, it can jump over other buttons. Very handy weapon, so actually you dont have always start with soldiers. Good strategy -it messes opponents brain, have seen it few times (~30+ years of playing). Fisher would have ate the king and Robert saw it coming, thats the real reason he backed down. Intresting strategy tough.. Been analyzing months of this.

I prefer this channel and kingscrusher when it comes to chess videos. I like how this channel sticks to the game rather than constantly showing lines that weren't played. Thanks ChessNetwork.

Nice video but clearly chess expertise doesn't extend to the English language. "Brilliancy" is not a word. Brilliance does just fine. :-)

THE GAME WAS NOT OVER AT 18:20 ALL THE WHITE HAD TO DO WAS MOVE HIS HORSE IN THE PATH OF THE BISHOP & RIGHT BESIDE THE OTHER BISHOP TO PUT HIM IN PLACE FOR TRAID TO TAKE BOTH OF HIS BISHOPS BY TRAIDING PEICES TO THE END SO TECHNICALLY THE GAME WAS FAR FROM OVER!!! WHAT YOU THINK FROM 18:20 OF THIS VIDEO ABOUT THE MOVES I WOULD HAVE TOOK AND LEFT MY QUEEN RIGHT THERE ...

The game was not over at 18:20 he should have left his queen and moved his HORSE BESIDE the BISHOP and in the path of the other BISHOP so he could start TRAIDING PEICES and possibly win how is it I'm the only one who see this .lol and Everybody thinks the game is over and it's far from it look at it for yourself from 18:20 and leave the queen but move your HORSE in the path of his BISHOP then you will see how many more moves are left . Think you stay Blessed
